DOG OWNERS/HANDLERS SHALL COMPLY WITH STATE AND LOCAL LAWS, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, CONNECTICUT GENERAL STATUTES 22-341, 22-364, 22-357 AND CHAPTER 214-3E OF THE TOWN CODE.
The Guilford Dog Park is a Town park under the Guilford Parks and Recreation Department and operated in cooperation with Friends of the Guilford Dog Park, a citizens’ volunteer organization.
USERS OF THE GUILFORD DOG PARK ENTER AT THEIR OWN RISK. THE TOWN OF GUILFORD AND FRIENDS OF THE GUILFORD DOG PARK ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO ANY PERSON, DOG OR PROPETY. DOG OWNERS/HANDLERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THEIR DOGS AND ASSUME ALL LIABILITY.
GUILFORD DOG PARK RULES
1. Dogs must have a 1) valid license and 2) display a valid rabies tag
2. Dogs must be leashed to and from the dog park on a leash no longer than 7 feet
3. Dogs must be removed from the park immediately upon the first sign of aggression
4. No choke, pinch, prong or spike collars are permitted on dogs in the dog park
5. Dog owners/handlers must remain inside the fenced enclosures with their dogs, monitoring them at all times; they must keep their dog in view and within voice control
6. Leashes must be in the owners/handlers possession at all times
7. Owners/handlers must clean up after their dogs anywhere in the dog park and dispose of dog waste in provided waste receptacles
8. It is the responsibility of the owners/handlers to fill any holes their dogs dig
9. Prohibited animals: Female dogs in heat, aggressive dogs, ill or injured dogs and dogs under 4 months of age
10. Limit of 3 dogs per person/per visit
11. Smoking, alcohol, glass containers and food or beverages (except water) are prohibited
12. Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult inside the fenced enclosures. For safety, children under the age of 5 are not allowed in the dog park
13. If a dog bite occurs, immediately contact Guilford Animal Control at 203-453-8083. For emergencies call 911
